Budget snapshots
Save named versions of a budget, compare them, and restore an earlier one safely.
A snapshot is a saved, named version of your budget at a moment in time — a bookmark you can compare against or return to. Snapshots let you experiment freely, keep a record of key versions (like the one a client approved), and roll back if a change goes wrong.
Open the Snapshots panel from the budget toolbar.
Saving a snapshot
Click New snapshot, give it a name and an optional description, and Save snapshot. CrewGrid freezes the current state of the budget under that name. Saving a snapshot doesn't change anything in your live budget — it just records a version.

Pinning
You can Pin an important snapshot so it stays easy to find among the others — useful for the version you keep coming back to, such as an approved budget.
Comparing (diff)
Click Diff on a snapshot to see exactly what's changed between it and your current budget — which lines moved, and by how much. This is the quickest way to answer "what's different from the version we agreed?"
Restoring
Click Restore to roll the budget back to a snapshot. Before it does, CrewGrid saves your current budget as a safety snapshot first, so restoring is never destructive — if you change your mind, the state you restored from is still there to go back to. You'll be asked to confirm.
Exporting
Each snapshot can be exported, so you can send a specific version out of CrewGrid. See Groups, templates, and export.
Budget snapshots vs timeline snapshots
Budgets and timelines both have snapshots, and they work slightly differently. A budget snapshot is mainly for comparing and restoring. A timeline snapshot can also be used as a stable source when building bookings and call sheets.
