Price lists
Create reusable lists of priced items to speed up building budgets.
A price list is a reusable set of named items and their prices — your standard day rates, kit charges, and common costs — that you can pull from when building a budget. Set them up once and every budget goes faster. Find them under Settings → Price lists.
What a price list looks like
A price list has a name, a currency, and a set of items, each with a price. Items are grouped into categories to keep long lists tidy (anything without one sits under Uncategorised). You can mark one list as your Default — it's flagged with a star in the list, and it's the list the budget's price-list browser opens on when a budget hasn't chosen one yet. Marking a different list as Default automatically un-stars the previous one, so there's always at most one.
The Price lists page is split in two: your lists on the left (each showing its currency and item count), and the selected list's contents on the right.

Creating a price list
Click + New price list in the left column.
Give it a name and pick its currency (EUR, USD, GBP, CZK, CHF, CAD, or AUD), then click Create.
Add structure with + Add category, then add items with + Add item under each category — each item is a name plus a price.
The currency matters later: a budget can only use a price list in its own currency, so if you work in more than one currency, keep a list per currency.
Editing a list
Everything edits in place — click a list name, category name, item name, or price to change it, and press Enter or click away to save.
- Rename or delete a category with the × next to its header. Deleting a category doesn't delete its items — they move to Uncategorised.
- Delete an item with the × on its row.
- Delete a whole list with Delete in the header. Before you confirm, CrewGrid tells you how many budgets currently use the list; if any do, they fall back to no active price list (their existing line items keep their figures — see below).
- Tick Default in a list's header to make it your organization's default.
Using a price list in a budget
When you add a line item to a budget, price lists show up in two ways:
- Inline suggestions. If the budget has an active price list, start typing in the new item's name field and matching items appear in a dropdown, each showing its category and price. Use the arrow keys and Enter (or click) to pick one — the item's name and price fill in. Press Enter without picking anything and your typed name goes in as a free-typed item, so the list never gets in your way.
- Browse price list. The list-icon button next to the new item field opens a browser showing every item in a chosen list, grouped by category, with a Search items… box. Picking an item fills the line the same way.
The browser also has a dropdown to switch which price list this budget uses. Switching persists as the budget's active price list, so the inline suggestions follow. If you pick a list whose currency doesn't match the budget, CrewGrid refuses with "This list's currency doesn't match the budget."
Picking a price-list item copies its name and price into the budget line — the line doesn't stay linked to the list. That means you can freely adjust the figure on the line afterwards, and editing a price in the list later never changes lines already in your budgets. New picks use the new price.
