Creating a project
Start a new production — set the client, currency, and which tools the project uses.
A project is a single production. Creating one sets up its own space for the budget, timeline, crew, and call sheets. This page walks through it.
Start a new project
From Projects in your organization sidebar, start a New project. Fill in:
- Project title — the production's name.
- Client — who it's for.
- Modules — which tools this project uses (see below).
- Domestic currency — the main currency for the budget.
Click Create project. You set the shoot dates afterwards, in the project's settings.

Choosing the tools (modules)
The Modules picker lets you choose which production tools this project uses. All of them start ticked:
- Budget
- Timeline
- Staffing
- Call Sheets
- Locations
Untick anything you don't need — a simple job might keep just Budget and Staffing, while a full shoot uses everything. You have to keep at least one. Overview, Documents, and Settings are always included. You can add tools back later, so it's fine to start lean. See Choosing project tools for how each tool works and how adding more later behaves.
Project limits
The number of active (non-archived) projects you can have depends on your plan — 1 on Free, 3 on Starter, 5 on Professional, unlimited on Enterprise. If you're at your limit, you can't start a new project until you archive one or upgrade. See Archiving a project and Billing and plans.
After creating
You land on the project's Overview. From here you can start building — add crew, lay out the timeline, or start the budget. See The project overview.
