Crews and roles
Organise your production's positions into crews and roles.
The Staffing tool is where you organise the people on a production. It's structured in two levels: crews (groups of positions) and roles (the individual positions to fill). Open it from Staffing in the project sidebar.
Crews
A crew is a named group of roles — "Camera Crew", "Lighting", "Production". Crews keep a busy production's positions tidy. Add one with + Add Crew and give it a name; rename it any time, or use Delete crew to remove one.
Roles
Inside a crew you add roles — the actual positions, such as "1st AC" or "Gaffer". Add one with + Add Role and type a name. A role is what you fill by booking a person.
Each role shows a small status dot as you work through booking it — hover it for a label such as "Open — no contacts added", "Requested — awaiting response", "Availability confirmed", or "Confirmed". If the crew's stream is linked on the timeline, the role also shows the timeline range it covers. See Linking crew and roles.

Filling a role
To fill a role, you add one or more contacts to it (in priority order) and send a booking request. This is covered in Sending a booking request.
Keeping an eye on the whole crew
The staffing page surfaces the state of your whole crew at a glance — which roles are open, requested, confirmed, or declined. It also flags bookings that have fallen out of sync with your timeline (a ● drift pill on the role), with a quick way to bring them up to date in bulk. See Re-seeding bookings.
